In celebration of Sikh Heritage Month, I’ve created this drawing workshop featuring Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s faithful Falcon companion.
My all-ages, step-by-step guide will get you in the zone and feeling creative in no time! No art experience required, promise.

As a bonus, I’ve also created a coloring page featuring the incredible Sikh warrior, Mai Bhago.
Template pictured below, with the final drawing pictured on the right. In the workshop, I teach patterning, detailing and important concepts like composition and contrast to create an intricate and mesmerizing work of art.

Zentangle can look intimidating at first, but when you break it down, it’s just a matter of three steps: drawing the general shape, drawing in guidelines and filling those guidelines with patterns.
In fact, here’s an artwork masterpiece created by a student. She drew this within a few hours with just paper and pen by following the instructions in my zentangle workshop. You can too!
Artist/ Instuctor Bio:
Jasmin Pannu is an Award-Winning multi-disciplinary Artist with 80+ murals in the Toronto area. Her artworks have had the honour of exhibiting at a few of North America’s largest galleries such as the Museum of Contemporary Art, the Ontario Science Centre and the Royal Ontario Museum.
Outside of creating new works, Jasmin Pannu teaches art workshops and gives artist talks for clients ranging from the Peel District School Board to the municipality and private clients.
Five years after having left corporate marketing to pursue the arts full-time, Jasmin’s artworks have appeared on national news outlets such as CBC Arts, Breakfast Television, The Guardian and Huffington Post Arts.

In this workshop we will be drawing a version of this half-lion, half-elephant mural that I designed and painted. All you will need is paper, a thick marker, a fine-line marker or outliner, a pencil (optional) and an eraser (optional):
